FAN ART FRIDAY - Fernando Peniche

Just when I thought I had found some of the best fan artists out there, I come across someone like Fernando. I had first seen some of his work in Cereal:Geek, but have since forgotten and re-stumbled upon him again. Below are some of my favourite 80's and 90's cartoon fan art that he has illustrated.

Here's a short bio from his website:
"My name is Fernando Peniche, 27 years old, I'm a penciler, inker, colorist and graphic designer.
I have worked for more than 5 years in the comic industry.
I been published with companies like moonstone books (The Phantom), Cereal Geek (80s Illustrations), outerverse (Riftor the true warrior) among others."

Thursday Cartoon Intro - HE-MAN 2002

And this completes our month-long look at cartoon intros from the various He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series and spinoffs.

The 2002 remake of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is one of my favourite cartoons ever made. The first season had quite a few dull episodes, but by the 2nd half of season one it really hit its stride. The second season in particular was amazing. For anyone that hasn't checked it out, but was a fan of the original series, I recommend you pick up the complete series that is out in stores.

Next week begins Superhero month in celebration of the release of Iron Man 2 and free comic book day (which is on May 1st)! Each week will be an intro from a Marvel or DC Comics super hero cartoon.

Rue Morgue #100

Well... now I am starting to feel old. Rue Morgue has hit a milestone - issue #100! I'm not a huge fan of BLACK, but I think this will be a great collector's item some day...as long as they don't overprint it.

Cartoon to Comix - B

Below is the continuation of my comprehensive look at all of the comic book covers for cartoons adapted into comic books. I purposely left out all of the Batman/Batman Beyond Animated series comics because there were just way too many...I'll post those as a separate entry at a later date.
