RM #105, Fango #298 and DVD/Blu-ray News

I've been putting off showing some of these new releases so I could do them all at once. I couldn't wait any longer for Horror Hound to release images of their next issue, so we'll just have to wait for that one.

Next month's Fangoria looks incredible...not because of the lame-ass Gene Simons cover, but because they are bringing back pull out posters to the mag!

Fangoria #298

Next month's Rue Morgue looks like it will be a good one too. Their celebrating their 13th anniversary Halloween issue.

As for DVD and Blu-ray news, I've put off on showing a few great titles coming to DVD from Shout! Factory. First up is The Slumber Party Massacre Collection DVD set.

Slumber Party Massacre - Release Date: Oct 5, 2010
The set will include trailers, photo and poster still gallery, a 3-part documentary and a collectible booklet. What makes this release even cooler, is if you order the DVD now directly from ShoutFactory.com, you receive this awesome pillowcase.

Here are two more releases coming out from Shout!

The Evil / Twice Dead (Double Feature) - Release Date: Oct 5, 2010
Both movies feature audio commentaries and trailers.

The Terror Within / Dead Space (Double Feature) - Release Date: Nov 2, 2010
Bonus features include trailers and a commentary track for Dead Space.

Details about the upcoming Cannibal Girls DVD have finally surfaced. Previously I mentioned in my MIA on DVD post that the movie would be released on blu-ray. Unfortunately, I was wrong and the movie will not be available on blu-ray.

Cannibal Girls - Release Date: Oct 26, 2010
Bonus features include commentary, trailer, alternate audio track featuring the infamous bell that rings prior to the gore scenes and interviews with Ivan Reitman, Eugene Levy and Daniel Goldberg.

Also, Code Red DVD released a 30th anniversary edition of Madman on DVD yesterday. I highly recommend fans of the film pick this up as rumours have been spreading that Code Red will be shutting their doors in 2011. Now's your chance to grab all those obscure DVD titles...like Beyond the Door

Madman: 30th Anniversary Edition - Release Date: Sept 28, 2010
Bonus features include a 91 minute featurette titled "The Legend Lives: 30 Years of Madman", commentary, trailers and more.

In addition to Madman coming out on DVD yesterday, VCI Entertainment FINALLY released Dark Night of the Scarecrow on DVD. Unlike it was previously mentioned, Dark Night will only get a DVD release...no blu-ray.

Dark Night of the Scarecrow - Release Date: Sept 28, 2010
Bonus features include commentary and the original CBS promo for the movie.

And lastly, Guillermo del Toro's first feature film, Cronos, is making its way to blu-ray thanks to The Criterion Collection. I'm sure this will be a pretty penny, but totally worth it! In addition to Cronos, CC is also releasing Cronenberg's Videodrome onto Blu-ray.

Cronos Blu-ray - Release Date: Dec 7, 2010
The BRD will be packed full of featurettes, a short film, still galleries, trailers, etc.

Videodrome Blu-ray - Release Date: Dec 7, 2010
All the extra features seem to be ported over from the DVD release.
